About

I'm Martin, 26. First of all a filmmaker, but I also work as a photographer, DP and creative director. I'm always motivated with a camera in my hand.

I got into photography when I was 18. A friend of mine was making music, and I wanted to make videos around it. It started with a smartphone, then a Sony a6500, and eventually a first proper music video. Moving image became the thing I kept coming back to.

I studied at SAE Institute Zürich, where I learned a lot about planning, lighting, video and storytelling. More importantly, it brought me together with people I still work with today — Yungdrizzz, Duke, G Bunny and the whole 445 team. Today, we share a studio and keep creating together.

I'm interested in what happens when an image starts moving. Film gives me sound, time and space to build something. Photography gives me the opposite: one frame, one moment, and the chance to make that moment say a lot.

Most of my inspiration comes from movement, light, shadows, atmosphere and people. I like things that feel intentional, but not overworked. A perfectly controlled image is exciting to me, but so is the chaos of an event when you have seconds to react. Either way, atmosphere and emotion come first.

Music is a huge part of that. Working with artists gives me room to experiment, build worlds and find a visual language around the music. That's one of the things I enjoy most about music videos. No culture, no art.

With fashion, I'm interested in more than the clothes themselves. It's the world around them — the location, the styling, the light and the feeling. The context changes how something is seen. The same goes for events. I want the images to feel less like you're looking at something that happened and more like you were actually there.

Behind the scenes on a rooftop parking deck: a photographer in a white tank top and black cap sits on the ground and shoots upward at a long-haired rider in sunglasses and a patched denim vest on a black motorcycle, graffiti-covered walls and office buildings behind.

I like preparing properly before a project starts. Planning saves time, gives everyone direction and makes it easier to react when something inevitably goes wrong. Because it always does. That's where improvisation comes in. On set, I like working with people, staying relaxed and figuring things out together. I'm usually behind the camera, but I'll happily step into directing when the project needs it.

35mm is a different side of that process. It's slower. You think more before pressing the shutter, and every frame feels a little more deliberate. For me it's a way to step away from the speed of professional work and document things that are personal — people, places, moments and memories. I also like that it proves you don't always need new technology to create something that still feels visually strong.

I care more about quality and authenticity than attention. I'm not interested in following trends just because everyone else is doing it. For me, making things is a kind of outlet — a way to turn what's in my head into something that exists in the world.

And I'm not really trying to stop there.

I want to make bigger productions, work internationally, shoot more fashion and music videos, build campaigns, direct more, spend more time behind the camera and eventually take on projects that feel completely out of reach today. I'd love to work with David Banc, do more with Yungdrizzz, and one day work with Travis Scott. One of the things I'd love to create is a fully art-directed campaign for Louis Vuitton.

It only goes forward.

At night beneath a brick overhang, a person in a crocheted red, orange and black balaclava and matching scarf looks into the camera and makes a shaka sign.

Outside of work, you'll probably find me skiing, doing triathlon, hiking, camping or somewhere in the mountains. Usually with music playing. I listen to pretty much everything — classical, techno, rock, punk, Balkan, funk. Music is probably the one thing that follows me everywhere.

think bigger!
